The Signalberg near Damme in the Lower Saxony district of Vechta is 146 m above sea level. NHN the highest elevation of the Dammer Mountains and the Oldenburger Münsterland .
geography
location
The Signalberg rises in the middle part of the Dammer Mountains and in the Dümmer Nature Park . Its summit is 3.7 km north-north-east of Damme , 3.8 km south of Steinfeld and about 670 m east of the Schweizerhaus restaurant on the 846 national road that connects the two villages .
The Weser-Ems watershed runs over the elevation : the water of all rivers that flow eastwards from it turns through the Hunte towards the Weser , and that of the streams that run westwards through the Hase reaches the Ems .
Natural allocation
The Signalberg belongs to the natural spatial main unit group Dümmer-Geestniederung (No. 58), in the main unit Bersenbrücker Land (585) and in the subunit Bersenbrück-Dammer terminal moraine arch (585.0) to the natural area Dammer Berge (585.03).
Protected areas
Parts of the Dammer Berge landscape protection area are located on the Signalberg ( CDDA no. 320272; designated in 1973; 55.673 km² in size). Except for its northern and western slopes, those of the fauna-flora-habitat area Dammer Berge (FFH No. 3414-331; 7.7224 km²) extend.
Towers
On the summit of the Signalberg there is a transmission tower of the Bundeswehr and about 730 m north-northwest of the summit is the 134 m high Dammer Berge telecommunications tower of Deutsche Telekom . The latter broadcasts the programs NDR Info , N-Joy , Deutschlandfunk and Deutschlandradio Kultur .
Digital radio ( DAB / DAB + ):
Digital radio in the DAB + standard has been broadcast from the telecommunications tower in vertical polarization since January 27, 2017.
