Skolka is an Austrian ska - and polka - band from the wine district .
history
The eight-member band was founded in 2012 in the Weinviertel. In the beginning they appeared as support act for Alkbottle , Django 3000 , Russkaja , LaBrassBanda , Clara Luzia , Wanda and Seiler and Speer . Her first EP Gemma Gemma was released in 2013 and became known the following year through her participation in "Heart of Austria" on the Austrian TV station Puls 4 and entered the Ö3 Austria Top 40 .
After a band portrait on ORF, on Pixner`s Backstage on ServusTV , the sampler Sex, Drugs & Volksmusik and the Licht ins Dunkel sampler (with, among others, Krautschädl , Wanda, Seiler and Speer ), the band presented their first regular album daunzboa . Furthermore, the band performed at some festivals such as the Buskers Festival in Vienna, Noppen Air, Picture On , Woodstock der Blasmusik , Spielberg Music Festival, Ö1 stage at the Donauinselfest & at Nova Rock .
In 2016 Skolka released the song Registrierkassa . After a summer full of festivals in 2016 - concerts all over Austria and Bavaria, TV appearances on ORF “ Guten Morgen Österreich ” and W24 live at the Donauinselfest as well as the free choice for Band of the Month on Radio Bavaria - the band worked on their next studio album.
In 2020 they worked with Otto Jaus for their reggae single Domois, wia ma Kinder woan ... together.
