Skorochów [ ɕɛst.ʃɛχɔˈvʲiʦɛ ] ( German  Kohlsdorf ) is a village in the urban and rural municipality Nysa (Neisse) in the powiat Nyski of the Opole Voivodeship

Geographical location

The street village of Skorochów is located in the southwest of the historical region of Upper Silesia . The place is about two kilometers east of the municipality and the district town of Nysa and about 62 kilometers southwest of the voivodeship capital Opole .

Skorochów is located in the Nizina Śląska (Silesian Plain) within Dolina Nysy Kłodzkiej (Glatzer Neisse Valley) . The village is on the north bank of the Jezioro Nyskie ( Neiss reservoir ).

history

After the First Silesian War in 1742, Kohlsdorf and most of the Principality of Neisse fell to Prussia .

After the reorganization of the province of Silesia coal village belonged from 1816 to the district Neisse in the administrative district of Opole . In 1829 the place was completely destroyed by a flood of the Glatzer Neisse.

After the Second World War in 1945, Kohlsdorf was part of Poland and the remaining German population was expelled and renamed Skorochów . In 1950 Skorochów came to the Opole Voivodeship. In 1971 the Nysa Kłodzka ( Glatzer Neisse ) was dammed in the 22 km² large Neiss reservoir . In 1999 the place came to the re-established Powiat Nyski .
