Kubice (German Kaundorf ) is a village in the rural community Nysa (Neisse) in Poland . It is located in the powiat Nyski (Neisse district) in the Opole Voivodeship .

Geographical location

The village of Kubice is located in the southwest of the historical region of Upper Silesia . The place is about eight kilometers east of the municipal seat and the district town Nysa and about 54 kilometers southwest of the voivodeship capital Opole .

Kubice lies in the Nizina Śląska (Silesian Plain) within the Dolina Nysy Kłodzkiej (Glatzer Neisse Valley) . The Glatzer Neisse flows north of the village . The Voivodeship Road Droga wojewódzka 407 runs through the village . Kubice station is on the Nysa – Opole railway line . The Skowronski Potok flows through the village .

In the work Liber fundationis episcopatus Vratislaviensis from the years 1295-1305, the place is first mentioned as Cubytz . In 1372 it was mentioned as Kubindorf .

After the First Silesian War in 1742, Kaundorf and most of Silesia fell to Prussia .

After the reorganization of the province of Silesia , the rural community Kaundorf belonged to the district of Neisse in the administrative district of Opole from 1816 . In 1845 there was a knightly scholtisei, a Catholic school and another 64 houses. In the same year 402 people lived in Kaundorf, all of them Catholic. In 1855 there were 412 people living in the village. In 1865 the place had a Erbscholtisei, 18 farms, 20 gardeners and 20 cottagers. The Catholic school was attended by 68 students in the same year. In 1874 the district of Neunz was founded, which consisted of the rural communities Kaundorf, Neunz and Wischke. On October 1, 1887, the Opole – Neisse line was opened. In 1885 Kaundorf had 515 inhabitants.

In 1933 there were 434 people in Kaundorf and 450 in 1939. Until 1945 the place was in the district of Neisse .

In 1945 the place came under Polish administration and was renamed Kubice , the population was expelled. In 1950 Kubice came to the Opole Voivodeship. In 1999 the place came to the re-established Powiat Nyski .
