The 1998/99 Slovenska Nogometna Liga , also known as Liga Si.mobil Vodafone after the sponsor, was the eighth season of the top Slovenian league in men's football . It began on August 2, 1998 and ended on June 13, 1999. The defending champion was NK Maribor Teatanic .

The league was increased to twelve clubs. These competed against each other in three rounds, so that 33 game days had to be completed. The teams that finished in the first six places after 22 games had a total of 17 home games, the other 16. The last two were relegated directly.
