history

SV 1898 Feuerbach

FC Viktoria Feuerbach was founded on November 8, 1898 . This merged on October 1, 1919 with the FVgg Stern-Germania Feuerbach to form the sports club 1898 Feuerbach , or SV 1898 Feuerbach for short .

SV 1898 Feuerbach was one of the ten founding members of the Gauliga Württemberg in 1933 . Together with the Stuttgarter Kickers and VfB Stuttgart , the Feuerbacher were able to compete with the Württemberg football elite. With a balanced point account, the Feuerbacher finished the first season in fifth place. The highlights of the first Gauliga season certainly included the 3-1 win against eventual champions Union Böckingen and the two 2-1 wins at home and away against VfB Stuttgart. While the Böckinger had to relegate in the following season, the SV 1934/35 improved to fourth place in the table. However, this time the score at the end of the round was even. At VfB there was a clear 1: 7 defeat this time, but a 5: 2 at home against the Stuttgarter Kickers. In the Tschammerpokal 1935 , the Feuerbach won the first round at the old master Karlsruher FV 1-0, but then retired with a 3-0 defeat at Freiburg FC . The 1935/36 season turned into a disaster for the Feuerbacher. Without a win, but 15 defeats, the SV descended from the bottom of the table. The 2: 2 at home against runner-up Sportfreunde Stuttgart was nothing more than a minor success. With the 0: 6 at Stuttgarter SC , on the other hand, there was a defeat with six goals difference, as in the previous season. The only significant victory came in the Tschammer Cup in 1936 in the first main round, when the SV defeated a former German champion again in a 5-2 win over Phoenix Karlsruhe . In the second round, the Feuerbacher retired with the same result at 1. FC Schweinfurt 05 .

However, the second class lasted only two years. In 1938, SV 1898 Feuerbach prevailed against Kickers Vöhringen and Göppinger SV 1895 in the promotion round to the Gauliga . However, the resurgence was followed by another playing time without a chance for the Feuerbacher. This time there were 2 wins out of 13 defeats (both against Stuttgarter SC). A 2: 9 at 1. SSV Ulm means the highest defeat in the Gauliga to date for SV 1898. Due to the beginning of the Second World War , the Gauliga season 1939/40 was played in Württemberg in a transition round to two seasons with a total of twelve teams. The Feuerbacher who actually relegated were allowed to participate in season 1 and finished in third place behind VfB and SC from Stuttgart with a first positive point balance. With this, the SV had managed to keep the league for the single-track Württemberg Gauliga from 1940. Among the twelve teams again, the Feuerbacher played well again and ended up in sixth place with a slightly positive balance. With a 5-0 win over VfR Aalen , the team celebrated their highest victory in the Gauliga to date.

The 1940/41 season remained the most positive from Feuerbach's point of view. In the Gauliga, which was again reduced to ten teams, the team in 1941/42 did significantly worse and landed in seventh place with 15-21 points. In 1942/43 and 1943/44 there was then a balance of 14-22 points, which in 1943 was enough for sixth place, in 1944 only eighth place. In the 1943/44 season there was an 8-0 win over Union Böckingen, the highest ever win in the Gauliga. For the 1944/45 season, the Gauliga was divided again due to the war. This time there were three seasons, SV 1898 started in season 2. This was finally canceled on March 18, 1945. Feuerbach was in first place after four of twelve games, but three of the seven relay participants had not played a game at all at this point. In the course of 1945, SV 1898 Feuerbach was finally dissolved.

Sportvg Feuerbach

On November 30, 1946 the sports association was founded in Feuerbach . In addition to SV 1898, the former clubs Turnerbund , RV Pfeil , ASV 1898 , TV 1883 , cycling club , tennis club 1921 and ski guild 1923 Feuerbach were also merged into the Sportvg . In 1945, Feuerbach was not yet part of the newly founded first-class Oberliga Süd . But two years later the Sportvg knocked on the gate of the first class again. As the sovereign champion of the Landesliga Württemberg, in which they prevailed against many former Gauligar rivals such as VfR Aalen, 1. SSV Ulm or Union Böckingen, the Sportvg competed in the promotion round to the Oberliga Süd. Feuerbach landed third in the round behind the promoted BC Augsburg and 1. Rödelheimer FC . In the following season, Sportvg narrowly missed the new Württemberg championship, two points behind SG Untertürkheim and newcomer FV Zuffenhausen . When it came to qualifying for the single-track substructure of the Oberliga Süd one year later, Sportvg clearly missed it and ended up in ninth place.

In the now more third-rate Wuerttemberg amateur league, the Sportvg lasted until 1955, but only landed ninth in the single-digit table in 1952. But in 1960 they managed to return to the amateur league, which from this season only included northern Württemberg. 1962 there was a third place in the table. In 1964, the year after the introduction of the Bundesliga , Sportvg promptly relegated to fourth class. In 1967/68 he only managed to return briefly to the third-class amateur league in Northern Württemberg.

Since the 2008/09 season, the Feuerbach sports association has only played at the district level.
