Spinefarm Records is a Finnish record label based in Helsinki . It was founded in 1990 by Riku Pääkkönen. The first band to sign with the label was the hardcore band Rytmihäiriö . Since 2002, Spinefarm has been an independently operating subsidiary of Universal Music Group . Marketing abroad is often carried out by partner labels such as Nuclear Blast .
