The Spolebach is an approximately 12.1 km long, left or northern tributary of the Eder tributary Elbe in the northern Hessian district of Kassel .

The Spolebach, which runs entirely in the Habichtswald Nature Park , rises on the western edge of the Habichtswälder Bergland in the Hinterhabichtswälder peaks . Its source is at the west foot of the 516.2 m above sea level. NHN high Wattenberg surrounded by forest at an altitude of around 365 m .
Initially, the Spolebach, leaving the forest immediately, flows into the Ostwaldecker Randsenken through agricultural areas in a predominantly southern direction to and through Balhorn (municipality of Bad Emstal ), after which it curves around the Elberberger Heights to the northwest . After crossing the Kassel – Naumburg railway line , it runs through the approximately 12 hectare Hengstwiese nature reserve near Naumburg ( CDDA no. 163641) , which has existed since 1985 .
After that, the Spolebach flows south and flows directly after passing the deserted Immenhausen between the core town of Naumburg and the district of Elbenberg at about 258 m in the Eder tributary of the Elbe .
Watershed
The Spolebach rises south of the Diemel-Eder / Fulda / Weser watershed . During the current flowing in southern directions Bach on the Elbe River and the Eder into the Weser drained, taking the northwestward flowing Limeckebach which about 1.5 km north-northwest of the Spolebachursprung at Istha springs, one kilometer moderately shorter route over the mill water that Erpe that Twiste and the Diemel to the Weser.
