The Limeckebach , also called Liemeckebach , is a 7.8 km long, left or western tributary of the mill water in the Hessian district of Kassel in Germany .
course
The Limeckebach flows entirely in the Habichtswald Nature Park in northern Hesse . It rises 1.2 km east-northeast of Istha , the south-eastern district of Wolfhagen . Its source is located about 2 km east-southeast of the Isthaberg ( 523.1 m above sea level ) at an altitude of around 349 m . The B 251 passes between Istha and Oelshausen about 200 m southeast of the source .
The Limeckebach initially flows west-south-west through agricultural land and then through Istha. Beyond the village, after the junction of the B 450 from the B 251, which the brook crosses, it runs again through arable and meadowland, and then roughly parallel to the B 450, which it crosses under twice, in a north-westerly direction to Wolfhagen's core town turn. There it flows west of the Ofenberg past the Hessenklinik Wolfhagen district hospital , an indoor tennis center, an outdoor pool, an indoor riding arena, a sports field and the Limeckestadion.
After passing the Wolfhag city center , the Limeckebach flows a little below the Wolfhager Stadtpark near Kreisstraße 105 (Wolfhagen- Ehringen ) at an altitude of 247 m into the Mühlenwasser , a south-western tributary of the Erpe , which comes from there approximately from the southwest .
Catchment area and tributaries
The Limeckebach has a catchment area of 9.511 km² . It is only fed by small tributaries : These include two streams that are about 0.6 and 1 km long and both come from the Isthaberg, and shortly afterwards a 1.6 km long stream that flows from Philippinenburg and below the Hessenklinik district hospital Wolfhagen flows out.
Watershed
The source area of the Limeckebach lies on the Diemel-Eder / Fulda / Weser watershed . While the water of the Limeckebach, which flows mainly in a north-westerly direction, runs through the Mühlenwasser, the Erpe , Twiste and Diemel into the Weser , that of the Spolebach , which rises a little further south between Istha and Balhorn (district of Bad Emstal ), flows through the Elbe , Eder and Fulda to the Weser.
