St. James the Elder

The Catholic parish church of St. Jakobus the Elder is in Struth , a district of the municipality of Rodeberg in the Unstrut-Hainich district in Eichsfeld in Thuringia . The parish is part of the Dean's Office Dingelstaedt in the Diocese of Erfurt .

The hall church over four axes was built from stone in 1792–1795 and expanded in 1893. The retracted choir in the northeast has a three-sided closure. The sacristy was added to the choir in 1990. The roof tower rises from the nave in the southwest , on which a curved hood sits, the lantern of which is crowned with a tower ball and a weathercock . The road to the gable constant with a tail gable trained facade of the roof tower has there portal .

The nave has two-storey galleries and is covered with a barrel vault with a cross-ribbed vault stuccoed onto it. The high altar comes from Gerode Monastery . It has winding pillars . The Lord's Supper is depicted on his altarpiece , which is flanked by figures of Saints Martin and Boniface . The Marienaltar of 1698 shows next to the Madonna to Saint Blaise and St. Nicholas . The Anne altar from the 18th century shows Anna the third person .

The pulpit's basket rests on a palm tree. The sound cover is crowned by Salvator mundi . A stone baptismal font carried by putti comes from the 1st half of the 18th century. An abbess's chair from the end of the 18th century comes from the Zella monastery . An organ with 21 stops , divided into 2 manuals and a pedal , was built by Wiegand Helferbein in 1933. In 2006 a new organ was purchased from Hey Orgelbau .
