City of Peace is the additional name for a number of cities in different countries and parts of the world, which in the general cultural-philosophical sense are referred to as those that have specifically declared themselves to be such in the past or that are in a phase of development towards Understand “City of Peace”.

The design of the pigeon relief was created in 1986 by the East Berlin sculptor Gerhard Thieme .   • Aachen . A citizens' initiative of this city declared: "The signatories undertake to support the process of making Aachen a city of peace and to promote it through their own and joint initiatives."
  • Dresden . With a peace appeal in 2008, a broad civic alliance of anti-fascist , peace, justice and environment-oriented groups decided to make the city of Dresden a "city of peace, democracy and human rights". The starting point is the extensive destruction of the city during the war and the recent increasing attempts by the neo-Nazi scene to abusethis historic mortgage for their goals. This goal was confirmed on February 13, 2010 by a human chainin which 15,000 people took part.
