The urban district of Mamonowo ( Russian Мамоновский городской округ , Mamonowski gorodskoi okrug) is an urban district in the Russian Oblast of Kaliningrad with 7,953 inhabitants (2010). Its administrative seat is the city of Mamonowo (Heiligenbeil) . The urban district is located in the southwest of the Oblast on the Frischen Haff . To the south it borders on the Polish powiat Braniewo , to the east and north on the Rajon Bagrationowsk .

history

On the territory of Bagrationovsk Raion , the municipal self-government unit of the city ​​of Mamonowo (ru. Город Мамоново, Gorod Mamonowo) was established in 1997 . In 2004 this administrative unit got the status of an urban district (ru. Мамоновский городской округ, Mamonowski gorodskoi okrug). In 2010 the urban district of Mamonowo was also established administratively and territorially.
