Baltiysk district

This article deals with the (country) -Rajon based in the town of Baltiysk , former Pillau. The former urban district of Baltijski Rajon of the city of Kaliningrad is usually referred to in the German-speaking area as the Baltic Sea Rajon or Baltic Rajon .

The Baltijsk Rajon ( Russian Балтийский район , Baltijski Rajon) is a Rajon in the Kaliningrad Oblast .

The Rajon borders the Baltic Sea in the west and the Fresh Lagoon in the east. In the north there is a border with Zelenogradsk Raion . The Russian part of the Fresh Spit is in the area of ​​the Rajon.

history

The city Baltijsk was 1947-1994 administrative law in a territory that was under the city until 1992 by a city Soviets from 1992 to 1994, the urban Baltijsker Administration. This territory comprised the headland between the Buchta Primorskaja (Fischhausener Wiek) and the Baltic Sea as well as the Russian part of the Fresh Spit . From 1949 to 1952 the Svetly workers' settlement was also administered from Baltiysk.

In 1994 the urban district of Baltiysk was founded ( Russian Балтийский городской округ , Baltijski gorodskoi okrug), into which the city of Primorsk and other settlements were incorporated. In 1999 the city district was characterized as "municipal education" with regard to local self-government.

After several attempts to reorganize local self-government failed in the years 2004 to 2007, the city district (as a local self-government unit) was given the status of a "municipal" district and was designated Baltijsk district ; Two urban municipalities and one rural municipality were set up as further municipal self-government units. In 2010 the Rajon was also established administratively and territorially.
