Stefan Vanselow

Stefan Vanselow (* 1980 ) is a German church musician , choir director , conductor and lecturer for conducting at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media . His musical spectrum ranges from early music in historical performance practice to world premieres . As a conducting teacher, Vanselow not only provides a solid technical basis and style-appropriate musical expressiveness, but also and above all psychological skills for interaction with the respective ensembles .

Life

Stefan Vanselow received in Dresden his first musical influence as a singer in Dresden Cross Choir . After graduating from high school, he studied choral conducting and church music from October 1, 1999 until his diploma on September 30, 2005 at the Hanns Eisler University of Music in Berlin and in London . His teachers included Jörg-Peter Weigle , Patrick Russill ( choir conducting ), Leo van Doeselaar , Paolo Crivellaro (organ), Wolfgang Seifen and Dirk Elsemann (organ improvisation). As the winner of several international conducting competitions and various foundations , Vanselow rounded off his artistic training with master classes with Eric Ericson , Helmuth Rilling , Simon Halsey , Andrew Parrott , Daniel Reuss and Robert Sund .

Stefan Vanselow worked with various ensembles, for example with the MDR-Rundfunkchor Leipzig , the Rundfunkchor Berlin or the RIAS-Kammerchor , took on choir productions for René Jacobs , Bruno Weil , Jun Märkl , Howard Arman Andrew Manze , Eivind Gullberg Jensen or the Norddeutscher Rundfunk .

In January 2012 Vanselow took over the direction of the Hanoverian Oratorio Choir . At the same time, he is the artistic director of the Bielefeld studio choir , lectures conducting at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media and works as a church musician in Beckum at the Christ Church there . In April 2015, Vanselow announced that he would be changing as district cantor at the St. Nicolai market church in Hameln .
