Tammam Saʾib Salam ( Arabic تمام صائب سلام, DMG Tammām Ṣāʾib Salām , born May 13, 1945 in Beirut ) is a Sunni Lebanese politician and was Prime Minister of his country from February 15, 2014 to December 20, 2016 . He is close to the pro-Western and anti-Syrian alliance of March 14, but also has good relations with the alliance of March 8 , which also includes the Shiite Hezbollah .

He is the son of former Prime Minister Saeb Salam and graduated from Haigazian University in Armenia . In the parliamentary elections in 1996 he was first into the Parliament elected but his seat lost in the 2000 parliamentary elections and entered for the 2005 elections not to. From July 11, 2008 to November 9, 2009, he was the successor to Tarek Mitri as Lebanese minister of culture in the Fuad Siniora cabinet . Since the 2009 elections he has been an independent member of the Lebanese parliament again.

The Druze leader Walid Jumblat with his Progressive Socialist Party had campaigned for Tammam Salam as the new head of government after the resignation of Najib Miqati .
