Tatitlek describes a census-designated place (CPD), a community-free area with 107 inhabitants in the Valdez-Cordova Census Area in the state of Alaska in the United States of America .
geography
The place is at the mouth of Boulder Bay , across from Bligh Island . There is only one road that connects the settlement with the neighboring village of Ellamar in Virgin Bay, both places can only be reached by air or sea. The port of Tatitleks is one of the ports of the Alaska Marine Highway , according to the United States Census Bureau , the area of the CPD covers an area of 18.9 km² of land.
Demographics
According to the 2000 census, 107 people in 38 households and 28 families lived here. The population density is 5.7 people per km². Racially, the population is composed of 14.02% white population, 84.11% Native American people , 0.93% Asian descent, 0.93% are descended from two or more races.
Of the 38 households, 44.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 47.4% of whom were married couples living together, 21.1% were single mothers, and 23.7% were non-families. 21.1% consisted of single households and 2.6% had people 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.82 and the average family size was 3.28 people.
36.4% of the population were under 18 years old. 7.5% between 18 and 24 years, 24.3% between 25 and 44 years, 24.3% between 45 and 64, and 7.5% were 65 years of age or older. The average age was 30 years. For every 100 females there were 94.5 males. For every 100 women aged 18 years or over, there were 106.1 men.
The median income for a household in the city is $ 36,875, and the median income for a family is $ 36,667. Males had a median income of $ 26,250 versus $ 8,750 for females.
