Behind the mirror is a television film from the television crime series Tatort of ARD , ORF and SRF and the second case of the Frankfurt investigators Janneke and Brix portrayed by Margarita Broich and Wolfram Koch . The report produced by Hessischer Rundfunk under the direction of Sebastian Marka is the 955th Tatort episode. It was broadcast for the first time on September 13, 2015 in the ARD Das Erste program. The main guest stars of this episode are Justus von Dohnányi , Dominique Horwitz and Henning Peker .

action

The Frankfurt investigator Paul Brix is only assigned to the back office until his use of the firearm has been finally clarified. Commissioner Anna Janneke is only investigating the death of politician and lobbyist Joachim Lindner, who appears to have hanged himself in his apartment. Janneke has slight doubts about a suicide , because Lindner had made a few appointments, which is atypical for a suicide. While she is talking to Brix about it at the Presidium, Simon Finger, a colleague of his last department, visits him. Brix doesn't seem happy about Fingers' visit, who wants to ask a favor. Before he can give him more details, he has disappeared without a trace.

Through his work at "Sitte", Finger had often met people from the Russian Mafia and had entered into business with them. Together with him, Wolfgang Preiss from the moral department of the PK5 is involved in these crooked deals. When Finger tells Preiss that he had taken the money from the Russians during their last deal but did not hand them over the goods, Preiss picks up Finger's service weapon and shoots him in the car while they are driving.

When the car is accidentally found by Patty Schneider, Finger's body is in the trunk. Schneider finds Finger's ID card and takes it because he notices that the victim is very similar to him. With an adapted hairstyle, he appears in a game club and asks for a loan. Little does he know that this action puts him in great danger.

Janneke has not remained hidden that her Brix is hiding something. She researches his old job and questions Wolfgang Preiss. He uses his chance and accuses Brix and fingers of doing crooked business. Janneke then confronts her colleague, who now confides in her. He knows by hand that the Russian Mafia was after him, which is why he should help him. It thus becomes clear that the commissioners have to get to Ilya Yusov, the head of the mafia, if they want to find out who is after fingers and why. The team succeeds in doing this, although it becomes clear that it is less Ilja Yusov who runs the business, but his daughter Elena. They also learn that the Russian mafia is not behind Fingers disappearance. Since Patty Schneider volunteered to report to the police the next day and clear up his action, there is no doubt that Finger is dead. After Brix found out that Janneke had secretly contacted Preiss and that the latter wanted to direct all complicity onto Brix, he believes it is possible that Preiss is the murderer of the finger. Janneke gets this back and forth too much and so she brings the two opponents together so that they can settle the matter between themselves. Immediately Preiss wants to cast suspicion on Thomas Berger, an officer in the organized crime department. Brix and Preiss go looking for Berger and Preiss takes advantage of the situation and shoots Berger with Brix's gun in order to push this murder on to his colleague as well.

Janneke meanwhile has another fake suicide to clarify. After the forensic investigation it is clear that the banker was murdered and Janneke searches for connections between Lindner and Stefan Mann, the new victim. Obviously it's about a big construction project that both of them were involved in. The main investor is a Russian company, chaired by Elena Yusov, so it is clear to Janneke that this new leisure facility should serve money laundering . Brix arrives and reports evidence that he has from Berger. At that moment, Preiss phoned to explain to Janneke that Brix shot Berger. Again, one word is against the other, but the Commissioner is sure that she can trust her colleague. After all, he brought her the evidence against Finger and the Russian Mafia. But even she wants the truth not to come to light and sends a hit man to Brix. However, the contract killer does not count on Janneke's presence and can be arrested by her. The comparison of DNA traces proves that he is also the murderer of Lindner and Stefan Mann. Janneke lures Preiss, who is about to break away, to a meeting point. He falls into the trap set for him, gives himself away and can be arrested.

criticism

Rainer Tittelbach from tittelbach.tv writes: “The strength of this complex, well-played, extremely exciting crime thriller lies in its high fictionality.” He also thinks that “it is not just the conventions of TV crime that are questioned first, but it the new commissioners and their boss, who turns out to be loyal, are also tapped for their moral integrity. As a result, the team gets to know each other 'more fundamentally', grows together almost existentially, and it enables the viewer to have sensual insights and insights that are deeper than if they were only asserted using character legend and backstory. "

Focus.de is of the opinion: "A really worth seeing, tightly knit case, which changes again and again from fast-paced to quieter moments, with inspectors who have the potential to become the personal favorite team of the audience."

Christian Buß from Spiegel Online comes to the conclusion: “The retro-futuristic eighties synth soundtrack, the humorous seventies zooms and the lusciously staged retro red light cosmos all point to a world that has long since vanished. The young savages Yesilkaya and Marka on the one hand build it up again with holy earnestness, on the other hand break it ironically at the right moment. "

The critics of the television magazine TV Spielfilm point their thumbs up and say: "Complex case of loyalty and trust."
