Wolfgang Michael (actor)

Wolfgang Michael (born June 15, 1955 in Heinsberg ) is a German actor.

Life

Wolfgang Michael completed his acting training at the Folkwang University in Essen. His first theater engagements took him to Bremen in 1981 and from 1982 to 1987 at the Mannheim National Theater . In 1987, artistic director Frank-Patrick Steckel brought him to the Schauspielhaus Bochum . This is where he began his collaboration with director Andrea Breth , which continues to this day . His first starring role with Andrea Breth he played in 1987 as a lieutenant Wiczewski in the Civil War drama South of Julien Green alongside Andrea Clausen and Nicole Heesters . Michael stayed in Bochum until 1993 and then moved to the Berlin Schaubühne on Lehniner Platz together with Andrea Breth . From 1999 to 2009 he was a member of the Burgtheater ensemble in Vienna. At the beginning of Oliver Reese's directorship in the 2009/10 season, Michael moved to Schauspiel Frankfurt .

Wolfgang Michaels appearances away from the theater stage are extremely rare. So far he has only taken on a few episode roles in various crime series and smaller roles in television and cinema films.
