Tedros "Teddy" Teclebrhan (* 1983 in Asmara , Ethiopia , now Eritrea ) is a German comedian , actor , musician , musical artist and web video producer . He became known under his pseudonym Teddy Comedy .

Life

Teclebrhan was born in 1983 as the youngest of three sons in Eritrea, which was then still annexed by Ethiopia. In his youth he volunteered for a year in the home and another year in Canada . He grew up in Bästenhardt , a district of Mössingen in the Baden-Württemberg district of Tübingen , and after completing his community service he attended the international drama academy CreArte in Stuttgart , which he graduated in 2008.

Career

Teclebrhan took on his first television roles in 2009; For example, he played the flabbergasting petrol station tenant Peter Gesesse in Laible and Frisch on SWR and the Rhenish drug dealer Moel in the crime series Kommissar Stolberg on ZDF . In 2009 he made his musical debut with Hairspray . There he played the role of Seaweed J. Stubbs from December 2009 to September 2010.

He received total attention in mid-May 2011 through a video on YouTube and appearances on TV . In the same year he won the TVLab at ZDFneo ; in May 2012 the first regular edition of Teddy's Show followed . In the show, he slips into the roles of Antoine Burtz, Percy, Lohan Cohan, Ernst Riedler and Carlos in feature films. The elements of the show include stand-up interludes, a studio live band and a talk with studio guests. The show was received positively by the critics.

In April 2012 he celebrated in the Stuttgart Porsche Arena with his stage program Teddy Show - Wasabersch du… ?! Premiere and has been on tour in Germany, Austria and Switzerland since then. In March 2015, the DVD recordings of his live program took place on two days in the Schleyerhalle in Stuttgart. In the film Halbe Brüder by director Christian Alvart , which was shot in 2014, he took on a leading role alongside Fahri Yardım and Sido .

In 2019, Teclebrhan hosted the German Film Prize alongside Désirée Nosbusch . Since May 2019, his show has been broadcast at 1:30 am on ProSieben . Both prominent guests and normal viewers appear in it, who have 1:30 minutes to perform. Previous guests have included Adel Tawil , Sido, Jürgen Domian and JP Krämer . So far, two seasons of four episodes each have been released. Teclebrhan has been part of the jury for the ProSieben show FameMaker since 2020 .

YouTube

He has been uploading videos to his YouTube channel since February 2011. Since then it has received over 200 million views. His most successful video is the survey on the integration test (which was not broadcast) with over 38 million views, in which he answered questions about the integration test in the role of Antoine. In 2013 he published the video series Boot Camp , as well as an advent calendar in 2014, 2015, 2017 and 2019. His music video Germany isch stable , published in April 2020, garnered a million views within one day.
