Thuringian Ministry for the Environment, Energy and Nature Conservation
The Thuringian Ministry for the Environment, Energy and Nature Conservation (TMUEN) is one of the nine ministries of the Free State of Thuringia . It is located at Beethovenstrasse 3 in the south of Erfurt in the vicinity of the Thuringian state parliament . Anja Siegesmund has been Minister since December 5, 2014 with an interruption from February 5 to March 3, 2020 .
history
When Thuringia was re-established in 1990, the Thuringian Ministry of Agriculture and Forests and the Thuringian Ministry of Environment and Regional Planning were established. After the state elections in 1994 , the ministries in Thuringia were restructured and both ministries were merged into the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture . The former Minister of Agriculture Volker Sklenar (CDU) became the first Minister for Environment and Agriculture . From 1999 the ministry was called the Thuringian Ministry of Agriculture, Nature Conservation and Environment , after the state elections in 2009 , when Minister Jürgen Reinholz (CDU) took office, the name was again changed to Thuringian Ministry of Agriculture, Forests, Environment and Nature Conservation (TMLFUN).
After the state elections in 2014 , the area of agriculture and forestry was spun off and assigned to the previous Thuringian Ministry of Construction, Regional Development and Transport . The "Energy" division from the Ministry of Economic Affairs was added to the Ministry . Since then, the ministry has borne his name.
building
The TMUEN building was erected in 1929 by the architect Lülje as the headquarters of the newly founded Oberpostdirektion Erfurt. It is characterized by the formal language of neoclassicism and has a monumental west facade that is around 150 meters long. The building is divided into an approximately 80-meter-long main building in the middle and lower, pavilion-like extensions to the right and left of it, which protrude to the front. Two more wings are attached to the east facade (rear). In front of the building there is a park-like open space, which underlines the monumental effect of the building as well as the main portal with an outside staircase divided by six pillars.
Business areas
In its business area, the TMUEN takes on the function of the highest administrative authority in the three-tier administrative structure of Thuringia. The Thuringian State Office for the Environment, Mining and Nature Conservation is subordinate to the TMUEN as a specialist authority and higher administrative authority.
