The Great 10k Berlin (until 2015 Grand 10 Berlin ) are a people and road run over 10 km that has been taking place in Berlin since 2008 in October . From 2010 to 2015 the Berlin runs! organized event sponsor Asics in the title, Bridgestone since 2018 . The program also includes a 2 x 5 km relay and a children's run.
history
In 2010, Leonard Patrick Komon ran the fastest time on German soil with 27:12 minutes and thus undercut the 17-year-old mark of 27:37 minutes that Tendai Chimusasa had set at the Würzburg Residence Run . The event is a competition of the German Junior Runner Cup .
route
The start and finish is at Charlottenburg Palace . Via Spandauer Damm , Otto-Suhr-Allee , Ernst-Reuter-Platz and Straße des 17. Juni you get to the Großer Stern , where you turn south at the Victory Column into Hofjägerallee. After a loop through the zoological garden , which you leave through the elephant gate, you return to the starting point of the course via Budapester Straße, Kantstraße and Schloßstraße . The elite runners did not make the passage through the zoo in 2018 and made up for the missing meters with a separate start. This promised a time gain of 5 to 10 seconds for the top runners.
