criticism

The TV magazine Prisma panned the film: “Seldom have you seen such a bad comedy! The course of the story is clear after a few minutes anyway, so only funny gags could help. But they are so bad, overdone and without timing that you can only clap your hands in front of your face and quickly want to run away. The actors also act worse than grimacing puppets. A horror! "

The lexicon of international film said: "Solid knitted romantic comedy that tries to make up their act by a ribald and direct language, the lack of grip."

Brigitte Preissler from Welt Online summed up “the main conflict of the protagonist [is] incomprehensible” and asked herself in view of the film: “What problem does Sandy have with a serious relationship with a man 15 years younger? Except for Sandy and her dubious film friend Daphne (Kate Jennings Grant) it is really clear to everyone from the start that she has found the ideal partner for a new beginning in the responsible, child-loving Aram, who, like her, is living in divorce. So why does the poor thing still have to travel the world for another five years, adopt an Indian boy and take a well-paid job before she answers him? "

In the opinion of Peter Koberger from Kino.de, “[the film] seems more amusing and more personable than many others, because [Bart Freundlich] knows how to use wit and distance to greater tastelessness and exaggeration. And if you don't want to experience Zeta-Jones as a self-confident hunter but as an insecure deer, you get a rare chance here. "
