The industry Mitte is a 4.5-km long by four lanes and mostly without crossing developed expressway in Salzgitter that the northwest of the city with the main road 248 in the East and the largest district Lebenstedt and the A 39 connects to the industrial area. Along with the north-south road and industrial road north and the Canal Street it is one of the most important on local roads in Salzgitter.

Industriestraße Mitte is part of the 11.4 kilometer long district road K 30 , which also runs through the city of Salzgitter-Lebenstedt to the west, but has different names there ( Theodor-Heuss-Straße , Bruchmachtersenstraße , Willy-Brandt-Straße and Konrad -Adenauer-Straße ) and is not developed without intersections. In some places only two instead of four lanes are available here.

In the east the street name changes again. Industriestraße Mitte is called Heinrich-Büssing-Straße from the intersection Eisenhüttenstraße / Linke-Hofmann-Busch -Straße . This is only expanded to four lanes up to the MAN Truck & Bus factory premises.

City area SZ-Lebenstedt

The district road K 30 begins as Theodor-Heuss-Straße in the extreme southeast of Lebenstedts north of Lichtenberg and the junction 20 of the federal highway 39 at an industrial area. There it emerges from the district road K 6 , which already begins under the same street name on the district road K 40 (An der Heerstraße) between Osterlinde and Salder , but then branches off to the northeast in the direction of Lesse .

Theodor-Heuss-Straße has two lanes and is not free of intersections. The surrounding villages and the urban area of Lebenstedt with Fredenberg and Salzgittersee are connected to the road via several crossings . South-east of the old village, the Theodor-Heuss-Straße changes after 2.8 kilometers (without the section of the K 6 district road ) into the just over 200 meters long Bruchmachtersenstraße, which ends at the Kattowitzer Straße intersection on the southern edge of the old village four-lane expansion initiates.

The following Willy-Brandt-Straße is dedicated to the entire length of 600 meters as state road 472. At the intersection northeast of the train station, it branches off to the northeast and follows the course of Albert-Schweitzer-Straße. The 1.4 kilometer long Konrad-Adenauer-Strasse begins behind the intersection, which again belongs to Kreisstrasse 30 and has four lanes, but is still not free of intersections. After the crossroads at the fire station, the street leaves the Lebenstedter area. At the junction Peiner Straße, which follows shortly afterwards, in the direction of Engelnstedt , industrial area and Salder, the cross-over-free expansion and also the Industriestraße Mitte begin.

Industriestraße Mitte expressway

After the junction Peiner Straße, the maximum speed is initially only 60 km / h, as the access roads to the A 39 are not free of intersections. A speed of 100 km / h is permitted behind it. This is followed by the junction Nord-Süd-Straße / Watenstedter Weg / Kanalstraße, which connects Industriestraße Mitte via the other important extra- urban roads to Hallendorf and the south of the urban area with the districts of Salzgitter-Bad and Gebhardshagen . Another junction is near Watenstedt . The district of Heerte can also be reached via this . A short time later, the expansion of Industriestraße Mitte will end. However, there are still four lanes available. The access to the MAN logistics center is regulated by a traffic light switch. The same applies to the Eisenhüttenstrasse / Linke-Hofmann-Busch-Strasse intersection. At this point in the industrial and commercial area, Industriestraße Mitte ends. It turns into Heinrich-Büssing-Straße. Important companies such as Salzgitter AG , ALSTOM and MAN have company locations here. Eisenhüttenstraße, which branches off to the north here, also represents an important cross-connection with Industriestraße Nord and connects the third largest district Thiede and the headquarters of Salzgitter AG to both industrial streets.

Further course as Heinrich-Büssing-Straße

The 1.8 kilometer long Heinrich-Büssing-Straße still has four lanes for the first 500 meters. After the intersection of the MAN Truck & Bus site, the road narrows to two lanes. After two smaller crossings at the Watenstedt industrial park and southwest of Immendorf , the important traffic junction at Immendorfer Kreuzung follows . District road K 30 ends here. It turns into state road 495 and leaves the urban area in the direction of Wolfenbüttel in the east-southeast. The federal road 248 continues in a north-easterly direction to Thiede and Braunschweig and in a south-westerly direction to Salzgitter-Bad and Seesen .
