It belongs to the department of Marne , for Arrondissement Vitry-le-François , and is part of the Canton of Sermaize-les-Bains (2015: Canton Thiéblemont-Farémont ).

Thiéblemont-Farémont is located about 17 kilometers west-northwest of Saint-Dizier . Thiéblemont-Farémont is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Favresse in the north and north-west, Haussignémont in the north, Heiltz-le-Hutier in the east, Orconte in the south, Matignicourt-Goncourt in the south-west and Écriennes in the west.

The National Route 4 runs through the municipality .

In 1862 the localities of Thiéblemont and Farémont were merged to form today's municipality.
