Tim Suton (born May 8, 1996 in Kirchheim unter Teck ) is a German handball player .
Career
society
Tim Suton first played for TV Willstätt and later for HSG Düsseldorf and TSV Bayer Dormagen . In the 2012/13 season he made his debut in the 2nd handball league at HG Saarlouis and also played in the A-youth league team at HSG Völklingen due to a double right to play . In the 2013/14 season, the 1.91 meter tall backcourt player was supposed to play for the Bundesliga team of the Rhein-Neckar Löwen by means of second play, but this failed because of the regulations of the German Handball Federation , which prohibit the use of young people in two men's teams . For the 2014/15 season he moved to the Rhein-Neckar Löwen, with whom he signed a three-year contract. Since he received only a few game shares behind Andy Schmid and Mads Mensah Larsen , his contract was terminated by mutual agreement on October 31, 2014 and Suton signed with league rivals TBV Lemgo until the end of the season. In the 2015/16 season he was under contract with TuS N-Lübbecke . Then he returned to TBV Lemgo.
In 2014, Suton was the top scorer in the 2nd Bundesliga with 241 goals, 50 of them by seven meters . In October 2014 he was awarded the Erhard Wunderlich Prize for the best young player in Germany .
On October 2, 2019, Suton suffered a cruciate ligament rupture in his right knee in the DHB Cup round of 16 against Bergische HC .
National team
Suton was part of the squad of the German youth national team, for which he has so far played 34 international matches, in which he scored 85 goals. He won the bronze medal with the national team at the U-19 World Cup in 2013 , and was elected to the tournament's all-star team.
Suton made his debut for the German national team on June 18, 2017 . He has played 14 games so far in which he scored 19 goals.
On January 22nd, 2019 he was nominated for the current World Championship by national coach Christian Prokop because of Martin Strobel's injury .
Private
Tim Suton was a student at the Max Planck Gymnasium in Saarlouis , where he graduated from high school in 2014. His father Goran Suton was a handball coach , his brother Sven Suton also plays handball. Due to his father's origins, Suton was a German- Croatian citizen in his youth , but ultimately decided to take a German passport.
