Todd Julian Fedoruk (born February 13, 1979 in Redwater , Alberta ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player and coach who played 570 games for the Philadelphia Flyers , Mighty Ducks of Anaheim and Anaheim Ducks in the course of his active career between 1995 and 2010 , Dallas Stars , Minnesota Wild , Phoenix Coyotes and Tampa Bay Lightning in the National Hockey League on the left winger position . However, Fedoruk celebrated his greatest career success in the service of the Philadelphia Phantoms by winning the Calder Cup of the American Hockey League in 2005.
Career
In his youth, Fedoruk played between 1995 and 1997 with the Kelowna Rockets , between 1997 and 1999 with the Regina Pats and 1999 with the Prince Albert Raiders in the Western Hockey League . He was drawn by the Philadelphia Flyers in the seventh round in 164th place in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft . From 1999 he played first with the Trenton Titans in the East Coast Hockey League , a lower class American professional league. In the same year he was with the Philadelphia Phantoms , the farm team of the Philadelphia Flyers, in the American Hockey League for use. From 2000 to 2005 he commuted back and forth between the Flyers and their farm team, the Phantoms. Since he never had a regular place with the Flyers, he decided before the 2005/06 season to move to the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim .
In November 2006 he was transferred back to the Philadelphia Flyers. Known for being an Enforcer , there were two brawl incidents during the 2006/07 season . At the beginning of the season, he suffered several facial injuries in a fist fight against Derek Boogaard , which were fixed by inserting a titanium plate. Later in the season, he was passed out on the ice after a fight with Colton Orr of the New York Rangers and had to be removed from the ice on a stretcher.
In the summer of 2007 he signed a contract with the Dallas Stars . By the end of the 2009/10 season , Fedoruk was continuously active in various teams in the National Hockey League, before the Tampa Bay Lightning paid him off at the end of June 2010 from his one-year contract. The Canadian was without a club for the entire following season. It wasn't until August 2011 that the Vancouver Canucks signed him for a try-out. After the end of his engagement with the Canucks, the winger was not offered a contract and decided to end his active career a short time later. In November 2011, the Trenton Titans from the ECHL hired him as an assistant coach.
