Trilj is a town in Dalmatia in the southern part of Croatia , which belongs to the Split-Dalmatia County . It is located on the Cetina River in the Dalmatian hinterland . According to the 2011 census, Trilj has 9,109 inhabitants.

history

In Roman times, Tilurium , the Latin name of the place, was a garrison site. In the first half of the 1st century AD the Legio VII Claudia was stationed here. After their withdrawal, the camp was continued to be used by auxiliary troops.
