Cista Provo is a village and the center of the municipality of the same name in southern Croatia in the Split-Dalmatia County . According to the 2011 census, the community has 2,335 inhabitants and 469 inhabitants. The municipality also includes Aržano , Biorine , Cista Velika , Dobranje and Svib .

Cista Provo is located in the Dalmatian hinterland at the intersection of the state roads D39 and D60. Via the D39 you can reach the A1 motorway after 11 kilometers and the Adriatic coast at Dubci after 20 kilometers . Imotski is 27 kilometers away, Split 67 kilometers.

Worth seeing

In the area around Cista Provo there are barrows of the Illyrians who lived here from the 10th century BC. BC settled. Finds from Roman times prove the importance of the place on the trade route between Salona and Narona . In Mandarići , five kilometers northwest of Cista Provo, the remains of a three-aisled early Christian basilica from the 5th century were found. On the road towards Cista Velika there are a number of medieval tombstones of the Bogomils .
