Tyson Marsh (born June 20, 1984 in Quesnel , British Columbia ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Alaska Aces since January 2012 and plays in the position of defender .
Career
Marsh began his career with the Quesnel Millionaires in the British Columbia Hockey League . In 2001 he moved to the Vancouver Giants in the Western Hockey League for three seasons . During this time, he scored more points from year to year. He then moved to the 2004/05 season for the AHL franchise of the Toronto Maple Leafs , the St. John's Maple Leafs . After only one point in 21 games, Marsh was used until the end of the season with the Pensacola Ice Pilots in the ECHL , which also had a cooperation with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
The following two seasons Marsh then again spent with the AHL franchise of the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Toronto Marlies , the franchise meanwhile moved from St. John's to Toronto. Due to lack of success, Marsh was sent back to the ECHL to a cooperation club of the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Columbia Inferno , during the 2006/07 season . Here he finished the season with 21 points in 48 games. The following season he moved to the American Hockey League for the Rockford IceHogs , which had a cooperation with the Chicago Blackhawks . Here, however, he only came to eleven missions, in which he scored four points.
The following season 2008/09 began Marsh with the Reading Royals in the ECHL, but after only eight games and three points scored it went for him to the Chicago Wolves in the AHL, before he after 29 games and six points to the Alaska Aces in the ECHL moved to be used in the playoffs. With the Alaska Aces he got to the Kelly Cup final , which he lost with the Aces 4-3 against the South Carolina Stingrays . He stayed in Anchorage for another season , in which he scored 13 points in 30 games, but then moved to Europe for the 2010/11 season to the Italian first division club HC Alleghe in the A1 series . In 40 games he was able to score 19 points, but failed with HC Alleghe in the quarter-finals of the playoffs at the finalists HC Pustertal .
At the end of July 2011, Marsh was signed by SC Riessersee from the 2nd ice hockey Bundesliga . In mid-December 2011 it became known that SC Riessersee had split from Marsh and in return signed Swedish defender Alexander Deilert . In January 2012, Marsh returned to the Alaska Aces.
