The UN Käerjéng 97 is a Luxembourg football club from Niederkerschen . The club colors are red and blue. The club has been playing its home games since November 2011 in the newly built Center Sportif "Käerjenger Dribbel" (2,500 seats) in Niederkerschen. The old stadium “Um Bechel” in Oberkerschen , which had been in use until then, was demolished in 2012.

The association was founded in 1997 through the merger of US Bascharage and Jeunesse Hautcharage.
In the 2014/15 season they reached 12th place in the BGL Ligue and had to go into relegation. Here they lost 3-0 to FC UNA Strassen and had to play in the second-rate honorary doctorate in the 2015/16 season . After only one season in the second division, he was immediately promoted back to the BGL Ligue, but this was immediately followed by relegation.

Founded in 1919, the greatest success in the club's history was winning the national cup in 1971, the Coupe de Luxembourg . As a third division team, they defeated Jeunesse Esch 4-1 after extra time in the final . The following year the club played in the European Cup Winners' Cup . In the first round they met the English team Chelsea and lost 8-0 at home and 0-13 away. In the highest league in Luxembourg, the National Division , they only played in the 1981/82 season and finished in 11th place.

In the 2005/06 season you rose for the first time in the national division , which ended in 8th place. As a cup finalist of the same season, the club qualified for the UEFA Cup qualification , where the team met five-time Norwegian champions Lillestrøm SK . After losing the first leg, Käerjéng won the second leg 1-0 and surprisingly moved into the second qualifying round, where it was then defeated by Standard Liège .
In the 2008/09 season they were in the cup final for the second time , but they lost 5-0. Since final opponent F91 Dudelange qualified as champions for the Champions League , UN Käerjéng took part in the Europa League as a cup finalist in the 2009/10 season , but lost there in the first qualifying round in both games against Anorthosis Famagusta from Cyprus.
With a third place in the 2010/11 season, Käerjéng qualified again for the Europa League. In the first qualifying round they played against BK Häcken from Gothenburg, Sweden . The first leg at the Josy Barthel National Stadium ended 1: 1. Käerjéng had taken the lead in the 85th minute, but the Swedes were able to equalize in stoppage time. The second leg at Gamla Ullevi in Gothenburg was lost 5-1.
Mention should also be made of the success of the Scolaires (German C-youth) in 2003, who became Luxembourg champions after a great season.
