The 2009 US Open took place from September 1st to 6th, 2009 in Chicago , United States . The men's squash tournament was part of the PSA World Tour 2009/10 and was endowed with $ 52,000.

In the final, Amr Shabana, seeded in second position, prevailed against top seeded Ramy Ashour with 11: 7, 11: 2, 7:11, 12:14 and 11: 8. Defending champion was Nick Matthew , who won the last edition in 2007.

The field of participants in the men's competition consisted of 16 players, four of which were reserved for qualifiers. The eight best players were seeded. Per Wildcard received Gilly Lane a spot in the main draw.
