FS Investments US Squash Open Championships 2018

The FS Investments US Squash Open Championships 2018 took place from October 6th to 13th, 2018 at Drexel University in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania , in the United States . The men's squash tournament was part of the PSA World Tour 2018/19 and belonged to the PSA World Tour Platinum category . At the same time, a women's squash tournament of the 2018/19 PSA World Tour took place. It also belonged to the PSA World Tour Platinum category .

Last year's winners were Ali Farag for the men and Nour El Tayeb for the women. Farag failed in the semi-finals to Simon Rösner , El Tayeb in the second round to Amanda Sobhy . The men's final was played by Rösner and the top-seeded world number one Mohamed Elshorbagy , which Elshorbagy won with 8:11, 11: 8, 6:11, 11: 8 and 11: 4. In the women's duel between the top seeded players, Raneem El Weleily, who was seeded second, prevailed against Nour El Sherbini with 11: 6, 11: 9 and 11: 8.

The fields of participation in the men's and women's competition consisted of 48 players each. The eight best male players and the 16 best female players were seeded. Per Wildcard received Christopher Gordon and Andrew Douglas in the men's and Fiechter Olivia and Reeham Sedky with the ladies each a spot in the main draw.

At the tournament, the following prize money and world ranking points were paid out or credited for reaching the respective round. The amounts are not to be understood as cumulative. The total prize pool was $ 169,000 each.
