The US Open 2011 took place from September 30th to October 6th, 2011 at Drexel University in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania in the United States . The men's squash tournament was part of the PSA World Tour 2011/12 and belonged to the World Series Gold category . The women's squash tournament was part of the WSA World Tour 2011/12 and belonged to the World Series Gold category .

The defending champions were Wael El Hindi and Vanessa Atkinson . Amr Shabana defeated Nick Matthew in the final with 9:11, 11: 8, 11: 4 and 11: 2. Laura Massaro defeated Kasey Brown 5:11, 11: 5, 11: 3 and 11: 5.

The field of participants in the men's competition consisted of 32 players, eight of which were reserved for qualifiers. The eight best players were seeded. The women's field of participants consisted of 16 players, eight of whom were also seeded. There were four qualifying places. Per Wildcard received Christopher Gordon and Latasha Khan each a spot in the main draw.

Prize money and world ranking points

At the tournament, the following prize money and world ranking points were paid out or credited for reaching the respective round. Players who entered the main field from qualification received the specified qualification points in addition to those for reaching the respective round. Otherwise the amounts are not to be understood as cumulative. The total prize money for the men was 115,000 US dollars. and $ 60,000 for the women.
