U 35 is a type 212A submarine of the German Navy .

history

The U 35 was ordered as the first unit of the second batch of submarine class 212A, was laid on August 21, 2007 at HDW and christened on November 15, 2011.

On March 27, 2013, the boat entered Eckernförde , his future home port, for the first time . Since the commissioning on March 23, 2015, it has belonged to the 1st submarine squadron .

In January 2015, massive deficiencies in the U 35 and the sister submarine U 36 became known. At the beginning of 2015, the wave system, the drive battery, the radar and the “Callisto” radio buoy were not running as planned. There were also constant problems with the other boats of the submarine class 212 A until the beginning of 2015. The mirror indicates a unit price of around 500 million euros for the U 35 and U 36.
