The University of Zielona Góra ( Polish : Uniwersytet Zielonogórski ) is a state university in Zielona Góra , in the Lubusz Voivodeship in western Poland .

The University of Zielona Góra was formed in 2001 from a merger of the Politechnikum Zielona Góra (Polish: Politechnika Zielonogórska - founded in 1965 as Wyższa Szkoła Inżynierska ) and the University of Education (Polish: Wyższa Szkoła Pedagogiczna - founded in 1971 as Wyższa Szkoła Nauczycielska ).
