Vince Bellissimo (born December 14, 1982 in Toronto , Ontario ) is a former Italian - Canadian ice hockey player who was last under contract with the Las Vegas Wranglers in the ECHL . His brother Daniel is also a professional ice hockey player.

Career

Bellissimo began his career in 2001 in the United States Hockey League . There he was active in the 2001/02 season for the Topeka Scarecrows . In Topeka , the right-handed shooter was one of the team's best scorers with 76 points in 61 league games . Due to the performance shown in the United States Hockey League, some talent scouts from the National Hockey League became aware of the Canadian. During the NHL Entry Draft 2002 it was those responsible for the Florida Panthers who selected him in the fifth round at a total of 158th position. In the summer of 2002, Bellissimo but initially decided to study at the Western Michigan University , Western Michigan University Broncos, he henceforth in for the Hockey Team College Football Central Collegiate Hockey Association was active.

At the end of the 2004/05 season , the Italian-Canadian moved to the American Hockey League for the San Antonio Rampage , the then farm team of the Florida Panthers. At the Rampage he ended the current season and then left the club again. Ultimately, the center forward completed twelve games in which he was able to score six times. In the following years, Vince Bellissimo was under contract with the Lowell Lock Monsters from the AHL and the Florida Everblades from the ECHL , before moving to Europe in the 2007/08 season, where he signed a contract with ERC Ingolstadt in the German Ice Hockey League . There Bellissimo developed into one of the best scorers and top performers in the team. In the 58 games that the right-shooter completed, he was able to achieve 58 points scorer. Furthermore, the fans and journalists nominated him for the DEL All-Star Game 2008 . In this game, which took place in the Freiberg Arena in Dresden , he scored three goals.

After his contract with ERC Ingolstadt expired in summer 2008, the Italian-Canadian decided against extending his contract and switching again. After a subsequent failed engagement with Kalevan Pallo from the top Finnish league, the SM-liiga , he signed a contract with the Austrian first division club HC Innsbruck . For the 2009/10 season , however, Bellissimo returned to ERC Ingolstadt. In January 2010 he switched to the Italian Serie A1 for HC Asiago , where his brother Daniel Bellissimo was also under contract. At the end of the season, the two brothers won the Italian championship with Asiago. Vince Bellissimo was the best scorer in the playoffs with 21 points. For the 2010/11 season , the Italian-Canadian returned to the United States and received a contract with the Las Vegas Wranglers in the ECHL.
