Wajera
Wajera ( Biblical Hebrew וַיֵּרָא 'And it appeared' - to be added: God) designates a reading section ( Parascha or Sidra) of the Torah and comprises the text Genesis / Bereschit 18–22 (18 BHS , 19 BHS , 20 BHS , 21 BHS , 22 BHS ).
It is the cider of the 3rd Shabbat in the month of Marcheschwan .

- Three angels entertained by Abraham announce the birth of a son to Sarah
- Abraham asks to spare the city of Sodom and bargains with God
- The two angels who come to Lot in Sodom and are hospitable there are to be handed over to the Sodomites
- Lot, his wife and two daughters flee before the city is destroyed by the fiery sulfur rain
- Lot's wife looks back and freezes to the pillar of salt
- In the cave of Zoar, Lot, intoxicated by the wine of his daughters, fathered a son with each daughter: Moab and Ammon , the ancestors of the tribes of the same name
- In the land of the Philistines , as in Egypt , Abraham presents Sarah as his sister
- Isaac's birth, circumcision, and weaning
- The Hagar and their son Ishmael are expelled at Sarah's request
- In the desert, an angel shows Hagar a well, from which she is watering the child who is dying of thirst

- After the number seven - Abraham gives Abimelech seven lambs for the well - the city is named Be'er Scheva (play on words with "Siebenbrunnen" and "Oathbrunnen")
- To put Abraham to the test, God commands him to sacrifice his son Isaac in the land of Moria (" Akeda ")
- An angel of the Lord intervenes and prevents the sacrifice

The associated Haftara in the Ashkenazi region is 2 Kings 4.1–37 BHS . In the Sephardic Rite, 2 Kings 4 : 1–23 BHS is read.
