Waldhäuser is a small Swiss village in the municipality of Bünzen in the canton of Aargau . It is located on the eastern edge of the Bünztal .

history

In 1312 the place was first mentioned as Walthusern . The manorial power was in the hands of the monasteries Einsiedeln and Muri . From 1491 the place was subordinate to the Twing Boswil , at the latest from 1530 it belonged to the parish of Bünzen. A major fire destroyed large parts of the village in 1601. At the beginning of the 20th century, the then independent municipality suffered from an increasingly poor financial situation. In 1909 Waltenschwil refused to incorporate Waldhäusern. The heavy financial burden caused by the river correction of the Bünz and the goods regulation led to the dissolution of the community and the merger with Bünzen in 1940; the hamlet of Hessel came to Waltenschwil.
