Forest Colony Pasing

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Pasing Forest Colony is a villa colony in the Pasing district of the Bavarian capital, Munich .

history

The forest colony was created southwest of the center of Pasing between Maria-Eich-Straße and Am Stadtpark. It was planned from 1894 by the architect Louis Ende , who emerged from the August Exter office and was familiar with the plans for the villa colonies Pasing I and Pasing II , which were also created before the First World War . In a ladder-like system (as in the Pasing II villa colony), the parallel streets Wehnerstraße , Lichtingerstraße and Dachstraße were laid out between Maria-Eich-Straße and Am Stadtpark , which were mainly to be built with medium-sized single-family houses. Initially only a few of these villas were built, as competition from the better-connected villa colonies Pasing I and Pasing II prevented this. Around 1910 the forest colony was expanded to include another parallel street, Pfeivestlstraße, to the south-west, which, however, was hardly built on before the First World War. After the First World War, the Bierbaumstrasse and Bachbauernstrasse, which also run parallel, were added to the northeast, i.e. in the direction of the city center of Pasing. The many vacant lots were filled in after the Second World War , so that the historical buildings form the minority. The eponymous forest in the area has completely disappeared.
