Valerija Sergejewna Scholobowa , married Koblowa ( Russian Валерия Сергеевна Жолобова ; born October 9, 1992 in Yegoryevsk , Moscow Oblast ) is a Russian wrestler . She is three-time Russian champion, Olympic participant in 2012 and was European champion in 2014 in the new weight class up to 58 kg body weight.

Career

Valery Sholobova started wrestling in 2004. It belongs to the Yegeri Yegoryevsk sports club in the Moscow region and is run by Oleg Chernov and Yu. Chernov trains. She is a student. It weighs approx. 60 kg and wrestles in weight classes up to 55 kg and 59 kg body weight.

As a junior she won several Russian championship titles in the categories "Cadets" and "Juniors" since 2007. From 2007 to 2011 she took part in a total of five international championships in the junior sector and won a medal in all championships. Her best result was winning the championship title with the "Cadets" in 2009 in Zrenjanin (Serbia) in the weight class up to 60 kg body weight.

In 2011 she was the first Russian champion in the elite wrestlers in the weight class up to 59 kg. She was then used at the World Cup in Istanbul , but came there only to a victory over Irina Petrowa from Latvia . Against Sona Ahmadli from Azerbaijan she lost and only reached 9th place.

In 2012 she trained in the weight class up to 55 kg, because the weight class up to 59 kg is not Olympic. She also became Russian champion in her new weight class, ahead of Maria Gurowa and Irina Kissel . In May 2012, the Russia represented at the World Cup for national teams in Tokyo , where there was also an individual rating. She created the sensation and defeated the two-time Olympic champion and multiple world champion Saori Yoshida from Japan on points (2: 1 rounds, 1: 2, 2: 0, 3: 0 points). After a defeat against the American Marcie van Dusen, this was only the second defeat that Saori Yoshida suffered in her entire career.

Valeria Scholobowa was then used at the 2012 Olympic Games in London . She came there to victories over Marcia Yuleise Andrades Mendoza from Venezuela , Joice Souza da Silva, Brazil and Sofia Mattsson , Sweden . In the semifinals she met Saori Yoshida, but this time she didn't give her a chance. Valery Sholobova lost against Saori Yoshida with 0: 2 rounds and 0: 5 points. In the consolation round she then wrestled against the former world champion Julia Ratkewitsch from Azerbaijan , against whom she also lost on points (0: 2 rounds, 1: 8 points), which means she missed a medal.

She was also very successful in 2013, as this year she won the Russian championship title for the third time in the weight class up to 55 kg, ahead of Irina Kissel and Maria Gurowa. In July of this year she won the Universiade in Kazan ahead of Irina Husjak , Ukraine, the North Korean Hwang Sun-byol and Kanako Murata from Japan. At the World Cup in Budapest she first defeated Mariana Esanu from Moldova, but then lost to Saori Yoshida. In the consolation round she secured a bronze medal in the World Championships with convincing victories over Ana Maria Paval, Romania, Sündewiin Bjambatseren , Mongolia and Irina Husjak.

In April 2014 she won the title at the European Championships in Vantaa / Finland in the new weight class up to 58 kg with victories over Irina Petrowa, Lithuania, Luisa Niemesch , Germany, Petra Olli , Finland and Irina Netreba , Azerbaijan. Valery Sholobova won her first four fights at this year's World Cup in Tashkent, but lost in the final against Kaori Icho from Japan.

In March 2015 she became U23 European Champion in the weight class up to 58 kg in Walbrzych. She won it u. a. about Laura Mertens from Germany and in the final about Mimi Christowa from Bulgaria. At the first European Games held in Baku in June 2015, she disappointed, because she lost there after defeating Mariana Cherdivara-Esanu from Moldova against Emese Barka from Hungary and against Grace Jacob Bullen from Norway and only ended up in 8th place.

The Russian Wrestling Association continued to rely on them and sent them to Istanbul for the Olympic qualification tournament in May 2016. She justified this trust and won there in the weight class up to 58 kg before Sakshi Malik from India. In doing so, she won the right to start at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro this year. In August 2016 she started in Rio and reached the final with victories over Luisa Niemesch, Germany, Orkhon Purevdorj, Mongolia, Sakshi Malik and Aisuluu Tinibekowa, Kyrgyzstan, in which she had to admit defeat to Kaori Icho again. She won the silver medal with it.

In 2017 Valerija Scholobowa was again Russian champion in the weight class up to 58 kg, but lost in the first round of this year's European Championships in Novi Sad against Carola Rainero from Italy, with which she was eliminated and only finished 7th. It was even worse for her at the 2017 World Cup in Paris, because she was eliminated early after a first-round defeat against Michaelle Fazzari from Canada and only finished 24th.

After that she was no longer at the start of any championships. It is not known whether she will continue her career.
