Yulia Ratkevich
Julija Ratkevich ( Belarusian Юлія Раткевіч , Azerbaijani Yuliya Ratkeviç ; born July 16, 1985 in Minsk , Belarusian SSR , Soviet Union ) is a Belarusian or Azerbaijani wrestler . In 2009 she was world champion and in 2005 European champion in the weight class up to 59 kg and 55 kg body weight.
Career
Yulia Ratkevich started wrestling in 1999 in Belarus. Since 2000 she was trained there by Vasily Kreso and later by Mikhail Schabetow. At international championships she competed for Belarus from 2002 to 2007. In 2009 she moved to Azerbaijan. There she became a member of Dinamo Baku . Your trainers there were or are Oktey Husseinow and Sultan Alikisowitsch. She started her career in the weight class up to 59 kg body weight. Julija Ratkewitsch made her first start at an international championship at the European Junior Championship 2002 (cadet age group) in Albena / Bulgaria . Then she won the silver medal three times at junior championships . In 2004 at the Junior European Championships in Sofia behind Emilia Drzewinska from Poland , in 2005 at the Junior World Championships in Vilnius behind Kei Yamana from Japan and also in 2005 at the Junior European Championships in Wroclaw behind Natalja Sinischin from Ukraine . She started in the weight class up to 59 kg. In 2005 she won a medal at the European Women's Championship. In Varna , she defeated Evangelia Chryssi from Greece , lost to Audrey Prieto from France and defeated Desislawa Lyubenowa from Bulgaria in the battle for a bronze medal . At the 2005 World Cup in Budapest , she did not get into the medal ranks and ended up in 7th place after defeats against Ayako Shōda from Japan and Alka Tomar from India .
Julija Ratkewitsch had her last assignment for Belarus at the 2007 World Cup in Baku. After winning two fights, she lost there in the quarterfinals against Olga Smirnowa from Kazakhstan . Since this did not reach the final, she was eliminated and only came in 8th place.
After moving to Azerbaijan , she caused a bang at her first start for this country, the 2009 World Cup in Herning / Denmark . She became world champion in the weight class up to 59 kg in Herning. In the decisive battles she defeated Marianna Sastin from Hungary and Agata Pietrzyk from Poland. In 2010 Julija Ratkewitsch tested whether she could cope with training in the weight class up to 55 kg. Since the weight class up to 59 kg was not Olympic, she had to switch to this weight class with a view to a future start at the Olympic Games. At this year's World Cup in Moscow she got along well with it and won victories against Sian Law from New Zealand , Ajym Äbdildina from Kazakhstan and Anna Gomis from France . In the final battle she lost against Saori Yoshida from Japan, who was perhaps the best wrestler in the world in those years. She became runner-up world champion.
In 2011 she started again in the weight class up to 59 kg at the European Championships in Dortmund , where she won the European Championship for the first time with four wins. in the final battle she defeated Georgiana Narcisa Paic from Romania. At the World Championships in Istanbul she then went back to the weight class up to 55 kg. You defeated there u. a. the strong Anastasija Grigorjeva from Latvia , but lost in the quarter-finals against Tonya Verbeek from Canada and in the consolation round against Maria Gurowa from Russia, which she only came in 7th place and missed the qualification for the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
In 2012 she came in at the European Championships in Belgrade in the weight class up to 55 kg only on the 14th place. In April 2012, however, she managed to win the Olympic qualification tournament in Sofia ahead of Maria Prevolaraki , Greece, Ludmila Cristea from Moldova and Anna Gomis, thus gaining the right to start in London. In the Olympic tournament she first won over Maria Prevolaraki, but was then defeated by the exceptional wrestler Saori Yoshida , Japan and finally secured an Olympic bronze medal in the weight class up to 55 kg body weight with victories over Kelsey Campbell , United States and Valerija Scholobowa , Russia. In September 2012 she also competed at the World Championships in Strathcoon County / Canada, but again in the weight class up to 59 kg. She won there over Elif Yale Yesilirmak, Turkey, but then lost to Olga Butkewitsch, Great Britain and only reached 7th place.
At the 2013 World Cup in Budapest she was more successful again. She defeated Geeta Geeta , India, Pham Thi Loan, Vietnam and Joice de Souza, Brazil, in the weight class up to 59 kg , lost to Taybe Yusein from Bulgaria and defeated Tatiana Lavrentschuk from Ukraine in the battle for a bronze medal at the World Cup.
