Waseca is a small town (with the status " City ") and the administrative center of Waseca County in the US -amerikanischen State Minnesota . In 2010 Waseca had 9410 inhabitants. Waseca was badly devastated by a tornado on April 10, 1967.

The four-lane US Highway 14 runs along the southern outskirts of Weseca. The Minnesota State Route 13 leads in a north-south direction as the main road through town. All other roads are subordinate country roads, some unpaved roads and inner-city connecting roads.
Two railway lines of the Dakota, Minnesota and Eastern Railroad meet in the metropolitan area of Waseca .
The Waseca Municipal Airport is a small airfield on the western outskirts. The nearest major airport is Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport (128 km north).

education
Waseca High School has between 700 and 800 students. The school colors are blue and gold, the mascot is a blue jay . The Waseca Junior High and Central Intermediate School (CIS) and a public elementary school are also on site. There is also a privately run elementary school.
Waseca is home to the University of Minnesota Agricultural Research Station .
economy
Brown Printing , a company belonging to the Gruner + Jahr group, is based in Waseca . This is the fourth largest magazine printing house in the United States.
Women's prison
Waseca has a federal prison for women that is classified as low security . The facility, which was opened in 1992 and emerged from a university college building, has space for around 1,000 prisoners.
