Wayne’s World

Wayne's World 2 is a comedy film and the sequel to Wayne's World, starring Mike Myers and Dana Carvey . Mike Myers wrote the script.

action

The film takes place a year after the first part of Wayne's World . Wayne and Garth have both moved out of their parents' homes - but they still don't know exactly what to do with their lives. In a dream, a half-naked Indian appears to Wayne, who leads him to Jim Morrison . This inspires Wayne to organize a rock concert a la Woodstock . As headliners are Pearl Jam and Aerosmith who play themselves in the film occur. After they flew to London on Jim Morrison's recommendation, to hire a roadie and have taken care of the formalities necessary for the implementation of the concert, the difficulties only begin.

The rock musician Cassandra is still Wayne's friend and has made a career with her manager Bobby - he takes advantage of a relationship crisis to approach her and even wants to marry her, which is prevented. In addition, not a single band has appeared until shortly before the start of the festival. As in Part 1, there are three different endings in the sequel. In two versions, Wayne and Garth either die in the desert or in a finale similar to that in the movie Thelma & Louise . In the third version, “Waynestock”, as the festival was called, is a success.

backgrounds

Drew Barrymore as Swedish secretary Bjergen Kjergen and Heather Locklear and Jay Leno , who play themselves, can also be seen in smaller roles . Kim Basinger plays "Luder Gail" (in the English original: Honey Hornee ), who seduces and deflowers Garth, but then has sinister intentions for him. Ed O'Neill (known as Al Bundy from A Terribly Nice Family ) plays Glen, the manager of Mikita's fast food restaurant, as in Part 1. In addition, Charlton Heston made a brief appearance at a gas station after Wayne was asked for a better actor for the role of the gas station attendant. The scene with Wayne getting Cassandra out of church is a parody of a scene from The Graduation . At the beginning of the film, Wayne and Garth attend an Aerosmith concert at which the band is performing with Dude Looks Like A Lady . In one darkly humorous scene, fast-food restaurateur Glen, played by actor Ed O'Neill, complains of constantly hearing voices in his head. Hearing disembodied voices is one of the acoustic hallucinations and is a symptom of the broad spectrum of psychoses , such as paranoid schizophrenia .

"A number revue enriched with uptight, sexist nonsense, a lot of music and quotes from Hollywood films, which shows more of the bad taste and acting ineptitude of its main actors than entertains."
