Weimersdorf is a district of the Upper Franconian town of Neustadt bei Coburg in the Coburg district .
location
Weimersdorf is about eleven kilometers northwest of Coburg on a small plateau, about 110 meters above the valley of the Itz in the west and the Röden in the east and south. Neighboring places on the plateau are Brüx , Höhn and Rüttmannsdorf . The four villages in the Coburg region are also known as the mountain villages. Communal roads lead to Rüttmannsdorf and Waltersdorf .
history
Weimersdorf was first mentioned in a document in 1149. In this, the Würzburg Bishop Siegfried von Truhendingen confirmed that the village had been handed over to the newly founded Mönchröden Monastery by Hermann Sterker , Burgrave of Meißen and his brother, Count Sterker. The Sterker kept the bailiwick right. Hans von Schaumberg also sold this and all other rights to the village and field of Weimersdorf to the monastery in 1348. After a period of desertification , the abbot of Mönchröden had the area rebuilt again in 1470. In 1595 there was one estate and three brines.
Belonging to Meeder church in the Middle Ages , Weimersdorf was looked after by the parish of Neustadt from 1529. In 1906 a cemetery was laid out on the road from Höhn to Brüx and the mountain church was consecrated there in 1910. In 1912 the parish was re- pared to Mönchröden .
The Weimersdorfer children initially went to school in Neustadt, about six kilometers away. From 1743 the four mountain villages had a preceptor who alternately taught in one of the farmhouses and had board and lodging there. From 1842 there was a school in the Höhner Forsthaus. On September 13, 1902, a new school building was inaugurated in Höhn. In 1969 the school was closed and lessons took place in the Mönchröden-Einberg School Association. After all, he has been in Neustadt since 1977.
In a referendum on November 30, 1919, one citizen of Weimersdorf voted for the Free State of Coburg to join the Thuringian state and 32 against. Thus, from July 1, 1920, Weimersdorf also belonged to the Free State of Bavaria .
One soldier from Weimersdorf lost their lives in the First World War and four in the Second World War. Plaques in the mountain church commemorate them. In the Reichstag election of March 5, 1933 in Weimersdorf, the NSDAP received 32 votes and the KPD received three votes.
On July 1, 1968, the four towns of Brüx, Höhn, Rüttmannsdorf and Weimersdorf merged to form the new Bergdorf community, which was dissolved on May 1, 1978 and incorporated into the town of Neustadt bei Coburg . Weimersdorf has been a district of Neustadt since then.
In 1950 there were thirteen residential buildings in Weimersdorf, in 1987 there were twelve.
The drinking water supply used to be through house wells. From 1974 the properties were connected to the drinking water network of Stadtwerke Neustadt. From 1924 the electricity supplier was the Coburg overland plant . In 1997 Stadtwerke Neustadt took over the power supply.
