Zak Orth (born Adam Zachary Orth on October 15, 1970 in Libertyville , Illinois ) is an American actor .

life and career

Zak Orth was born in Libertyville, the son of an opera singer and a piano teacher. He attended DePaul University in Chicago, where he graduated with a Master of Fine Arts .

He took on his first role in front of the camera in 1994 with an appearance in the black humor independent film Spanking the Monkey . In 1996 he played a small role in William Shakespeare's Romeo + Juliet by director Baz Luhrmann . He then took on other supporting roles in In & Out , My Teacher's Wife , Snow That Falls on Cedars , The One or None , Loser - Losers are lucky too, and in Wet Hot American Summer in 2001. In the later published series on the latter In the film, Orth also appeared in the role of JJ . In 2004, he was in the tragicomedy Melinda and Melinda from Woody Allen to see. In 2005 a role followed in the comedy Couchgeflüster - The first therapeutic love comedy . In 2010 he took on a small role in The Somewhat Different Cops . In 2012 he played Renfield in Vamps - Dating with Bite .

His guest series appearances include Fringe, The FBI's Borderline Cases , 30 Rock , Nurse Jackie , NYC 22 , Elementary , Good Wife , Happyish, and Veep - The Vice President . From 2012 to 2014 he played the role of Aaron Pittman on the Revolution series . He also took on recurring roles in the series Casual and Falling Water .

Together with the screenwriter and actor Michael Showalter , he forms the musician-comedian duo The Doilies . Orth is married for the second time. He has a child with his first wife. Since 2010 he has been married for a second time.
