history
The healing waters of several springs in Rosenthal have been known since the 17th century. The abbess of the Royal Monastery of Old Brno had a bath house built at one of the springs in the first half of the 18th century.
After the royal monastery was abolished in 1782, Rosenthal became part of the religious fund. On August 30, 1824 Ernestine Countess Schaffgotsch bought the Allodgut Zaroschitz with the associated villages Zaroschitz, Rosenthal and Straßeendorf from the kk sales commission. At that time Rosenthal consisted of only nine houses. Countess Ernestine had the settlement expanded in 1828, a manorial brewery and brandy house was built and, to the northwest of the settlement, the forests in the headwaters of the Zdravotnický potok were cleared, where the Ernestinenhof sheep farm was built. In 1834, 127 people lived in the 32 houses in the village. The emphyteutic guest house and bath house had 16 bath chambers and another bathroom above the iron spring. Because of the isolation and poor equipment of the bath, most of the visitors were not spa guests, but pilgrims.
After the abolition of patrimonial Zdravá Voda / Rosenthal formed from 1850 a district of the municipality Žarošice / Scharoschitz in the district administration Gaya and the judicial district Steinitz . The princes of Liechtenstein acquired the property in the 19th century and held it until 1923. At the end of the 1950s, the baths were closed. Some of the bathhouses were rebuilt, others demolished. After the Okres Kyjov was abolished, the place was assigned to the Okres Hodonín in 1960. In 1991 the village had 27 inhabitants. The 2001 census counted 35 houses and 19 residents.
