Zlatan Bajramović [ zlatan bajramɔʋitɕ ] (born August 12, 1979 in Hamburg , Germany ) is a former Bosnian-Herzegovinian football player and today's coach .

Club career

The defensive midfielder Bajramović began his career in 1989 in the youth of FC St. Pauli , where he made his debut in the professional team in 1998 . With the "Kiezkickern" he rose in 2001 to the Bundesliga. After direct relegation , he moved to SC Freiburg , with whom he also rose to the Bundesliga at the end of the 2002/03 season . In the promotion season, Bajramović scored 15 goals in 31 games as an attacking midfielder. After the relegation of the Breisgauer in 2005 , his path led to FC Schalke 04 , where he was "between the first team and the first alternative" until the winter break of the 2007/08 season ; He also made five appearances in the Champions League this half of the season. After a toe inflammation, he could no longer make the connection to the team in the second half of the season. His contract expired at the end of the season and was not renewed.

On July 30, 2008, he signed a contract with Eintracht Frankfurt until June 30, 2011 . In the 2008/09 season he only came to six short assignments for the Hessians due to four toe operations. In the 2010/11 season it was not used at all. His contract was not extended for the following season in the 2nd Bundesliga .

National team

In March 2002, Bajramović made his debut for the Bosnia-Herzegovina national team in a game against Macedonia . What was supposed to be his last game at the time, he made as captain of the team on October 11, 2006 in the European Championship qualification in Zenica against European champions Greece ; his team lost 4-0. Then he and a number of other players employed abroad boycotted the national team because of inconsistencies in the association. He was only called back to the squad by coach Meho Kodro in January 2008, but was unable to play due to his toe injury. On March 28, 2009 he was substituted on in the qualifying game for the 2010 World Cup against Belgium in the 67th minute and scored the 3-1 for his team in the 81st minute; Bosnia won 4-2. In total, he ran 35 times for the selection from Bosnia and Herzegovina and scored two goals.

Coaching career

In the 2012/13 season, Bajramović worked as assistant coach for the second team at FC St. Pauli. For the 2013/14 season, Hamburger SV signed him as a coach for the U-15 team. In the summer of 2014, Bajramović became Mirko Slomka's second assistant coach alongside Nestor El Maestro at HSV. In September 2014 Slomka - and thus also El Maestro and Bajramović - were released from their duties. From July 2016 to December 2016, Bajramović was the coach of the southern Baden league club Bahlinger SC . In January 2017 he followed Mirko Slomka to the second division club Karlsruher SC , for whom he again worked as an assistant coach, from April 2017 for his successor Marc-Patrick Meister , who was no longer able to prevent relegation. Also in the new season he initially worked under champions and at the same time became head coach of a second team that had been drastically reduced to twelve players, with which he was again active in the league at the same time. After the master's dismissal on August 20, 2017 due to the bad start in the 3rd division , Bajramović took over the KSC together with his colleague Christian Eichner as head coach for a few days before he continued to work as an assistant under Alois Schwartz .
