İrfan Can Kahveci (born July 15, 1995 in Bayat , Çorum Province ) is a Turkish football player who plays for Istanbul Başakşehir .

Career

Kahveci was born in Bayat , a village in the Çorum province , and moved with his family to the Turkish capital as a child. In Ankara , he began club football in the youth of Gençlerbirliği Ankara . In April 2012 he received a professional contract here, but played for the club's reserve team until the summer of 2013. For the 2013/14 season he was loaned to the second club of Gençlerbirliği, to the fourth division club Hacettepe SK . In the 2013/14 season he and his club reached the play-off winners of the TFF 3rd Lig and promotion to the TFF 2nd Lig .

For the 2014/15 season he was included in the squad of Gençlerbirliği. Here he quickly established himself as a regular player and top performer. After consistently good performances and the fact that he was nominated for the Turkish national team , he was one of the most sought-after local players in the Turkish winter transfer period. After he was first associated with Fenerbahçe Istanbul and some Spanish clubs, he moved to league rivals and autumn champions Istanbul Başakşehir .

National team

Kahveci started his national team career in 2012 with a commitment for the Turkish U-17 national team . After six more U-17 appearances, he began to expire for the Turkish U-18 selection. In 2014 he made his debut for the Turkish U-20 and then for the Turkish U-21 national team .

After being able to convince his club for several weeks, he was nominated for the first time in the squad of the Turkish national team by national coach Fatih Terim in August 2016 as part of a test and qualifying game for the 2018 World Cup . He was denied his international A debut in both games. He gave this on March 23, 2018 in a friendly against Ireland .
