Danijel Aleksić ( Serbian - Cyrillic Данијел Алексић , born April 30, 1991 in Pula ) is a Serbian football player .
Club career
Aleksić played from 2007 to the end of January 2010 at FK Vojvodina and was a regular there. On January 19, 2010 he moved to the Italian club CFC Genoa for 2,250,000 euros and signed a contract there until 2014. He made his Serie A debut on February 14, 2010 in a 2: 3 defeat against Juventus Turin , it but remained his only use in the second half of the 2009/10 season. 31 August 2010 Aleksic was a year in Germany to the SpVgg Greuther Fürth borrowed. There he was used regularly in the 2nd Bundesliga and scored two goals in 16 games.
After his return to Genoa, he was not used once and was transferred to France to AS Saint-Étienne . Here, too, he could not assert himself and was only used very rarely. Mainly he played for the second team. In the 2013/14 season he played on loan for AC Arles-Avignon . After his contract with AS Saint-Étienne was not renewed, he signed a two-year contract with the Polish club Lechia Gdańsk from the 2014/15 season . After half a season in which Aleksić was unable to assert himself, the contract was terminated prematurely. In February 2015, Danijel Aleksić moved to FC St. Gallen and signed a contract until 2018. Here he ended the season with 10 first division goals as the club's most successful goalscorer.
In the summer of 2019, he was signed by the Saudi Arabian club al-Ahli and after a competitive game was handed over to Istanbul Başakşehir FK within the same transfer period .
National team
With the Serbian U-17 national team , Aleksić took part in the 2008 European Championship in Turkey and was named the best player of the tournament, although his team was eliminated in the preliminary round. A year later he was part of the U-19 squad at the European Championships in Ukraine , where he was eliminated in the semifinals against the hosts. Aleksić made his debut in the senior national team of Serbia on December 14, 2008 in a friendly against Poland .
