The First Division 1975/76 was the 73rd season of the top Belgian division in men's football . It began on August 16, 1975 and ended on May 16, 1976.

In 1974 the KBFV decided to increase the number of clubs in the first division to 18. The transition was made in three phases. The last season was played with 20 clubs, this year 19 clubs competed and 18 teams in the following season .

The 19 teams played against each other twice, divided into a first half and a second half. In addition to the relegated RAA La Louvière, the last two clubs were relegated and replaced by two teams in the following season.
